How long have you worked at Hargreaves Land and can you describe your role within the firm?
I have worked for Hargreaves for nearly 7 years. I am the Senior Planning and Development Manager covering England and Wales.
What attracted you to a career in the property sector?
I like the variety associated with property development. Every project is different and has its own aspects and challenges.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
Delivering beneficial development which assists in the regeneration of brownfield sites and adjacent communities. I am particularly interested in delivering regeneration projects within the former coalfields.

What has been the highlight of your career?
Lots of highlights over a 25 year career, a recent highlight is successfully securing an agreement for lease and gaining subsequent planning consent for Ritchie Bros. inc. to relocate its UK heavy plant auction facility from Donington in the East Midlands to a 25-acre site at the former Maltby Colliery. This project has the potential to transform the Pit Yard site at the former colliery and to provide a much needed economic boost to the local town.

What book did you read last?
The Subsidence Engineer’s Handbook as part of a project to have the former Maltby Colliery Mining licence revoked.
When you’re not at work what do you like to do?
Running, walking or cycling in and around the beautiful countryside we have in Yorkshire and the Peak District.
