The Hargreaves Land portfolio offers opportunities for green energy production throughout its sites in Scotland.
The company’s grid connected sites have provided a platform from which to grow a sustainable energy revenue stream within the Hargreaves Group.
Hargreaves Land properties currently have planning consent for 2 windfarm schemes, totaling 25 wind turbines, 95 MW of installed capacity and plans for a further 10 turbines at an advanced stage of planning and development. All these schemes will be developed by third parties, with Hargreaves Land benefiting from long-term recurring generating revenue-based rental streams.
Energy from Waste
Our flagship energy site, known as Westfield in Fife, will convert up to 250,000 tonnes of waste per annum into electricity on a former surface mine. Detailed planning permission for the site has been obtained by Brockwell Energy Limited. Once developed, the energy plant lease will generate a fixed recurring rental stream for Hargreaves Land.
Westfield is one of the largest brownfield sites in Scotland and our Masterplan, which also includes significant solar generation, will help breathe life back into the local area. As part of the development process Hargreaves Land will restore large areas of the site for public access, whilst working with the Local Authority to attract further inward investment and business to the area.
