The Hargreaves Land portfolio offers great opportunities for green energy production throughout its sites in the North of England and Scotland.
The company’s grid connected sites have provided a platform from which to grow a sustainable energy revenue stream within the Hargreaves Group.
Hargreaves Land currently has planning consent for 3 windfarm schemes, totalling 45 wind turbines and plans for a further 100 turbines in various stages of planning and development.
Waste to Energy
Our flagship energy site, known as Westfield in Fife, will convert approximately 300,000 tonnes of waste per annum into electricity on a former surface mine. We have recently secured planning permission for the site and the detailed design is being finalised.
Westfield is one of the largest brownfield sites in Scotland and our plans will help breathe life back into the local area. As part of the planning process Hargreaves Land will restore large areas of the site for public open spaces, whilst working with the Local Authority to attract further inward investment and business to the area.
