Hargreaves Land has appointed John Barry as Commercial and Governance Director as the company continues to strengthen its controls and processes to support its growing development pipeline.
Based in Glasgow and reporting to Managing Director Bruce Lindsay, John brings extensive experience as an international CFO and Finance Director across construction and property, aviation, manufacturing, mergers and acquisitions, and equity funding.
Most recently, John was Finance Director of BAM in Ireland. He has a proven track record of aligning businesses with the control environment of a blue-chip parent, combined with in-depth internal audit experience.
At Hargreaves Land, John will work across the team to deliver enhanced project controls, improve processes and integrate standalone applications.
Bruce Lindsay, Managing Director of Hargreaves Land, said: “I’m delighted to welcome John to the team. His experience of strong project governance, particularly with stage-gate systems, reflects the principles we’re already applying, and his presence will give us a significant boost in achieving our governance goals as we deliver major schemes such as Blindwells and Unity.”
John Barry said: “I’m very pleased to be joining Hargreaves Land at such an exciting time for the business. The team has an impressive portfolio of projects, and I look forward to helping build the robust controls and processes that will support their successful delivery.”
