Westfield

A vision for Scotland

One of the largest brownfield sites in Scotland, our flagship Westfield scheme is identified as a key location, critical to supporting the government’s future sustainability agenda.

The scheme provides a prime opportunity to foster the development of sustainable employment, recycling, and green-energy technologies, and represents one of the most innovative regeneration projects of its’ kind in the UK.

Strategically positioned in nearby proximity to Junctions 4 and 5 of the M90.  Hargreaves Land’s vision for this complex brownfield site is focused on biodiversity, increasing public accessibility, and incorporating cutting-edge renewable energy systems that will sustain a significant employment hub.

Developing for the future.

Development to date

Hargreaves Land acquired the 1,049-acre Westfield site in 2013.  Its’ historic former mining use necessitated significant site remediation works as well as the delivery of extensive infrastructure to meet new occupier’s needs.

Since securing planning consent, a significant site investment programme has been implemented to deliver a range of serviced development plots.  These will accommodate not only the new £150 million 22MW Energy from Waste facility capable of delivering heat and power to adjoining occupiers but also a range of related users as well as providing further investment opportunities for other industries.

Innovation in development is the future.
