Having supported the delivery of development projects across the country over the last four years as Senior Project Manager, Hargreaves Land is proud to announce that Chris Metcalfe has accepted a promotion to Project Director.
A member of the Chartered Institute of Building, Chris splits his time between our Durham and Leeds offices.
David Anderson, our Group Property Director said: “Since joining us in 2019, Chris has been involved in schemes including our retail warehouse development in Bridlington, which was the first forward-funded design and build project completed by Hargreaves Land.
“Instrumental in the full process from planning through to handover, Chris has demonstrated incredible teamworking skills, and we are thankful he will be developing further into the future with us as Project Director.”
Chris, who has also worked on Unity, the mixed-use scheme in Doncaster, said: “I really enjoy my work at Hargreaves Land and being part of the growing business, which continues to give me opportunities to be involved with large schemes such as the recently announced Lincolnshire Lakes site near Scunthorpe, which is set to be one of the biggest residential developments in the region as part of the strategic regeneration of the area.
“Having managed the design, planning application and procurement process for the focal landscaping of Princes Loch at our flagship new town in East Lothian, Blindwells, I’m excited about the variety and challenge that comes from working simultaneously at different stages of big projects, on potentially difficult sites, and collaborating with a diverse team of external consultants.”
Over the next 12 months, Chris will be focused on the successful completion of the first industrial units at Unity, as well as the initial design, feasibility and planning for Lincolnshire Lakes, and the planning application for Falkirk Gateway, an exciting mixed scheme including residential, hospitality, leisure, and retail elements.
